ERICK VUILLIER - PEINTRE/SCULPTEUR
Born in 1956 in Niort, Erick Vuillier has always drawn and written. As an architect, he discovered sculpture at a Zadkine exhibition in Paris, as a matter of course. He took courses in modelling, brassware, metal work, welding, and he made his first sculpture in iron. The sketch-drawings he makes beforehand become painted pictures. Since 2007, he exhibits his works at the Galerie Carré d'Artistes in Paris, and in 2016,
he participates in Les Temps d'Art de Bagnères.
Mostly voluptuous women's bodies, and then wrestlers, men, centaurs, masks, angels, horses and other bestiaries... Erick Vuillier paints and sculpts greedily. A powerful breath animates his work, nourished by literature, history, great masters and mythology. Inks or acrylic paint then deliver on paper, canvas, wood, cardboard, this "small miracle of creation". A palimpsest of a memory emotion that hasn't said its last word...
