Star Party - Observation du ciel nocturne avec les associations d’astronomie amateur

A night under the stars in Hautacam with the Pic du Midi. Thursday, September 10, starting at 8:30 p.m., the night sky over Hautacam invites you on a journey! As part of a major Star Party organized by the Astro Club Du Hautacam in partnership with the Pic du Midi, astronomy enthusiasts from the region will gather for an exceptional evening dedicated to discovery and contemplation. Astronomy clubs, amateur astronomers, and photography and astrophotography specialists will come together to share their passion for the night sky with the public. Telescopes and other observing instruments will allow everyone—young and old—to discover the wonders hidden above our heads: planets, stars, nebulae, and galaxies, depending on sky conditions. Photography enthusiasts will also be able to learn about astrophotography techniques—this fascinating art form that captures celestial objects often invisible to the naked eye. This evening is also part of the initiative surrounding the Pic du Midi and its observatory’s bid for UNESCO recognition, which highlights, in particular, the exceptional quality of the night sky— designated an International Dark Sky Reserve since 2013—and the need to preserve this unique environment. Whether you’re an astronomy enthusiast, a photographer, simply curious, or just want to experience a moment out of time, come look up at the stars!
